Below the profile of the youth worker profiles we are looking for:

Across the EU there are divergent policies on people who use or have used drugs and alcohol. In terms of increasing employability and employment opportunities for this group, practice and approaches vary greatly. The European Action for Employment in Recovery (EAER) partnership reflects the divergence across Europe as a whole. The Dutch Foundation of Innovation Welfare 2 Work (DFW2W) and Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) (both organisations are involved in Elevate as well) have written a project designed for people who have a history of drug and alcohol problems, and those who are current problem drug users. They face significant social and economic inequalities and are marginalised within society particularly in terms of their education, training and employment. Long term drug users can face a cycle of disadvantage where poor school experiences lead to low participation in post-school education and less work experience and so less vocational training. Their employment prospects are greatly reduced as are other factors including confidence and understanding of the labour market. They also face significant stigma from employers and others.

After the Dutch Study visit of SDF , DFW2W have intensified their collabouration with SDF, resulting in EAER. The EAER project objectives are:

– To deliver positive and long lasting effects on policy and participating organisations through building more employability and employment opportunities for people who use or have used substances

– To deliver positive and long lasting effects on people participating in the programme through increased knowledge, skills, and motivation to improve services.

EAER is a collaborative project of 4 partner organisations in 4 EU member states who are working with problem drug users to increase their employability as part of their rehabilitation and with the ultimate aim that they are employed, are less reliant on the state, contribute to society and, consequently economic and social inequalities are reduced within and between member states.

European Action for Employment in Recovery is a partnership that consist of Scottish Drugs Forum, the Dutch Foundation Innovation in Welfare 2 Work, AGENCIA PIAGET PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO, and La Tenda.

The concept is to work together to increase capacity to deliver employability work with people who have a history of drug and alcohol problems in each of the partner countries – enhancing the provision of employability interventions within front-line drug and alcohol services.

We will look to disseminate good practice beyond the group through regular e-bulletins, two project conferences, and two good practice guides, along with a dedicated website for the project duration and beyond.

There will also be a blended mobility aspect and multiple networking opportunities through dedicated EAER Days, with ongoing communication through the duration of the project. to enhance activities and ensure that project objectives are met.

Strategic Partnerships and Knowledge Alliances (KA2 & KA3)

The Dutch Foundation of Innovation Welfare 2 Work (DFW2W) is a very experienced in the Erasmus+ field (KA01/KA02 /KA03). Organisations wanting to participate in Erasmus+ may want to involve DFW2W in their strategic partnerships, knowlegde alliances and Sector Skills Alliances, to tackle a skills gap and ensure a better alignment of vocational education and training with labour market needs. Maybe you wish to engage in a number of development and networking activities, including strategic improvement of the professional skills of your staff, organisational capacity building, and creating transnational cooperative partnerships with organisations from other countries in order to produce innovative outputs or exchange best practices.

YOUTH WORKNET aims at promoting the exchange of good practices in the field of networking-based activities for young unemployed people. By taking part in several EU and national projects, consortium partners have observed that traditional employment services tend to result ineffective in comparison with more innovative, informal and flexible solutions such as those based on networking and training support. In particular, partners previously involved in two projects based on the Job Club methodology registered a much higher success rate in employment and personal activation (e.g. exiting the NEET condition) than that resulting from institutional support measure. That’s why YOUTH-WORKNET proposes the exchange of a set of networking-based practices to be transferred and implemented in different contexts with similar needs.

By actively involving about 240 young people in 8 different EU countries, YOUTH WORKNET will produce a catalogue of at least 20 successful practices from 12 different countries, together with critical analysis of their features and operative description of transfer and implementation conditions. After a focused training programme, 40 young people and youth workers will become able to manage and evaluate the exchange programme, as well as to promote the personal, social and career development of peers – therefore becoming expert youth workers. These new competences will be assessed and certified via EU transparency tool as YOUTHPASS and ECVET credits.

During the exchange phase, at least 8 practices will be exchanged, implemented and monitored. Their “migration” will be evaluated in all key aspects and data will be collected in a final report to be presented in the final project meeting. By the end of the project, at least one more network of interested institutions will be officially established with the purpose of a further exploitation of the project results and the development of new networking-based interventions for youth employment.

Unemployment of young people is not a new phenomenon in Europe. An effective strategy would
have to be comprehensive, including all aspects of employability, such as education, vocational
orientation and training, mobility, entrepreneurship and social protection.

As a European partnership of mutual learning, Way 2 Learn 2 Work (W2L2W) has achieved to intensively exchange in the
course of its mobilities (252 delegates out of 12 organisations. It has taken a ‚look behind the scenes‘
of local and regional practice and structures of active labour market policy in nine European
countries, taking up experiences and views not only of social workers, vocational trainers, employers,
public and private employment services but as well as of young participants of employment or training schemes. It has explored the different circumstances and difficult conditions of good practice and innovative approaches, proving that it is possible to prevent today’s young people from
becoming a lost generation.

The Partnership Way 2 Learn 2 Work has taken a ‘look behind the scenes of local and regional
practice and structures of active labour market policy in each of the 9 European countries, hearing
about the experiences and views not only of social workers, vocational trainers, employers, public
and private employment services, but also those of young participants of employment or training
