Superschool
In 2009 Eric van ’t Zelfde became director of one of the worst schools in Rotterdam. A school with only 34 new student registrations, dramatic exam results, tired teachers and crime. Van ’t Zelfde tackled the problems off the beaten track. No less than 56 teachers left, 34 of whom in his first year as director. He introduced the ingenious rule of conduct ‘you behave yourself’, which is brilliant in its simplicity. He expelled a number of students against the law and had to answer to the judge. After several years, his school began to score at or above the national average. From the worst school in the Netherlands to one of the best schools in the Netherlands in five years.

EfDP Multiplier Event
The EfDP multiplier event in Leiderdorp took place on December 9th 2022. The EfDP-programme had lots of great presentations and a very exciting EfDP market place. Pieter van Schie and Carla de Vreij were the hosts of the day. The multiplier event launched the new EfDP course qualifications and outlined curricula and results achieved, showcasing the pilot course as well.

Newsletter Nr. 6
ProCKD newsletter number 6 covers the evaluational meeting of the Pro-CKD project in Madrid, which was held in in January 2022 and the Athens meeting in November 2022. The project ProCKD is funded by the European Union and draws attention to the socio-economic problems faced by individuals suffering from kidney diseases. The focus of this project includes, how kidney patients can continue their jobs after starting dialysis, how to encourage them to continue education and training, and how to help unemployed patients find meaningful jobs.
