ProCKD newsletter number 4 covers the 2nd transnational meeting of the Pro-CKD project, which was held in Istanbul in January 2022. Participants came together again on the campus of Istanbul Gelişim University.
The project ProCKD, which was funded by the European Commission from December 2020, draws attention to the socio-economic problems faced by individuals suffering from kidney diseases. The focus of this project include, how kidney patients can continue their jobs after starting dialysis, how to encourage them to continue education and training, and how to help unemployed patients find meaningful jobs.

Dutch Sesycare Training Days
On February 26th, 27th, 28th 2022 the Dutch Foundation organised the Dutch Sesycare Traing Days at the venue Area071. The Sesycare training supports the capacity building of staff and stakeholders. During the workshops in Leiderdorp the principals of non-formal education and the objective of inclusion of young caregivers through social entrepreneurship were placed centre stage.

ECVET for Digital Publishing Meets in Sevilla
Last week the second Transnational Project Meeting of ECVET for Digital Publishing Partnership was organised in Sevilla, Spain. Third Sector International hosted the meeting the 3rd and the 4th of March in the Cartuja area, where the very well-known Expo took place in 1992.

Dutch Employment, Employability and Entrepreneurship Study Days
We have just finished the Dutch ProCKD training Days at Area071 in Leiderdorp, Zuid-Holland. The presentations and workshops supported the capacity building of the stakeholders and partners, thus helping the development of the necessary patient competences. The learning activities have been a good chance to show good practice in integrating patients with Chronic Kidney Disease as peer leaders in the world of work. The Dutch training days directly strengthened the competences of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease and their family to motivate them to engage in further professional development.

EMO2C: Strenghtening Emotional and Social Competences
On 21st of February 2022, the Dutch Foundation of Innovation Welfare 2 Work participated in the first Online meeting of the EMO2C project. The vision and objective of this brand new project is to strengthen the emotional and social competences of the target groups, so that this personal empowerment serves as a basis for the development of technical and professional skills.

The Emotional and Entrepreneurial Side of Caregiving
In about 10 days we will give our Dutch Sesycare Training days in Leiden, Holland. But before we get into that we have a little flashback to January 11th-12th 2022: On January 11th-12th 2022 the Erasmus+ project SESYCARE had a meeting in Turkey at the Instanbul Gelisim University. The 2-day meeting offered a lot of presentations regarding social entrepreneurship skills to young caregivers. The emotional component is something we should not overlook as a big part of their (entrepreneurial) work, which could lead to a Caregiver burnout.

Dutch PhotoFX Laboratory Days
The Dutch Photo FX 5-day Workshop will support the capacity building of young participants with tools to give voice to their expressiveness, vision and personal interpretation of the world, with the purpose of social inclusion and awareness, especially about the conditions of discrimination suffered by people due to their physical and / or mental disability. Photo FX promotes co-creation processes in community interventions that use art for social transformation, placing participatory photography as an artistic practice that favors awareness on social issues. Within this framework participants are asked to “represent their context, their community, their environment, from their point of view, taking pics, talking about them, developing narratives.
